Shahn Anderson
In 1987 Shahn had the honor of being apprenticed under Scott Sterling and the late, great Sailor Moses at the world famous California Studio in Biloxi, MS. Shahn stayed in Biloxi until 92, after that he had the great opportunity to work with the magical Juli Moon at her studio in Seabrook, NH. Learning to tattoo and working at these amazing shops allowed Shahn to learn the many different styles of tattooing that he practices today. In 1990 Shahn attended his first convention with Moses and has worked well over 200 since then, gathering over 250 awards including National Tattoo Associations Best Tattooist award in 2014. In 1994 Shahn returned to Minnesota and opened Dragonland Tattoo Studio. Approaching nearly 30 years in Hopkins, Shahn and the shop are still going as strong as ever. Currently Shahn is serving as the President of the Alliance of Professional Tattooists (APT) with 4 previous years served as the President and has been on the APT Board of Directors for roughly 15 years total. This organization is one of the industries largest trade associations with its main focus as the teaching of safe tattoo techniques. He likes to focus on many styles of tattooing, from portraits to bodysuits, bio-mechanical to traditional Japanese, black and grey to full blown color. "There is not much I don’t enjoy doing. I do not do hate tattooing, satanic tattooing, cosmetic or other facial tattooing."
